Save The Offley Arms
The Offley Arms Pub overlooking the pool has been through troubled times, with previous owners struggling to run it as a business, and then a fire in April 2018 forcing it to close again.
Doors have remained closed and its future has been uncertain.
The pub is again up for sale, with future possibilities that may include turning it to housing/flats, losing it as a pub to the village forever.
A community group is getting together with the aim of saving the Offley Arms as a village pub and keeping it available for the community.
Just a few small posters around the village drew a hall-full of people, all interested to find out what’s happening, and what could be done.

A survey asking opinions is on its way! There will be an online version and a print version, with news and copies to everyone in and around the village.
What can I do?
- Talk to your neighbours about the Offley Arms, share your memories, and let them know what’s happening. Not everyone has easy access to read the web!

A few posters around the village highlighted that the village could lose the Offley Arms as a pub, and for anyone interested to attend to discuss at the Madeley Centre on Saturday 14th September 2019
Despite the worries of the initial group who thought that maybe there would be just a handful of attendees, the response was incredible!
Around a hundred people from the village attended, and gave their views on what they want from a village pub, and gave their support in helping to see it survive!
A call for helpers – project managers, business helpers, anyone with the kind of skills to help get a group and project off the ground, was met with dozens of people who straight away volunteered their skills.
