Madeley has a Police Station on Newcastle Road, which reopened in 2002 after a period of closure.
It was opened with a special ceremony presided over by Chief Constable John Giffard and Councillor Ashley Howells.
Councillor Howells says “We are now justly rewarded for our long fought campaign to restore proper policing to our village. My sincerest thanks to those 2500 souls who signed the petition – let’s now look forward to a peaceful and crime free future”.
