Madeley Neighbourhood Library
Reading for You at Your Library
Would you like to record a story on to CD? This is your chance! It could be grandparents reading for grandchildren who live far away, adults reading for elderly parents or stories for children in hospital. No cost to the reader except your time.
The specially produced CD gift with music, graphics and sound effects is on offer to library users in the North Staffordshire area.
If you are interested ‘Request Forms’ are available on the Madeley Travelling Library Service or call 01785 278369 and leave your details.
This is an Adult Learners initiative from the Community Library Service
The project is a partnership between Staffordshire’s Community Library Service, the Prison Library Service and HMP Stafford, who will be editing and producing the CDs
County Councillor and Cabinet Support Member for Culture and Heritage, Maureen Compton, said:
‘ Prisoners will be using their computer skills to help members of the library service to create a personal story CD. The project will raise awareness of prisoners as real people who can contribute to the community and improve people’s lives.
Support will be available for anyone who lacks confidence in reading aloud.’
