The Offley Arms is a historic pub in the centre of Madeley, overlooking the pool.
It was damaged in a fire in 2018 and subsequently put up for auction, potentially for development to turn to housing.
Although it took a bit of time, a swell of village interest in keeping it as a pub took off, with a well-attended event showing community interest and to look into options to achieve this.
A step in at the last minute by Joule’s Brewery has saved The Offley Arms as a pub for the village. It may be several months before it can be repaired and refurbished, but it will return as a pub.
